CD Label Film Requirements The following requirements should be followed in order to obtain the best end-result in the desired time frame. 1. Positive label film (black image on clear acetate) should be supplied; right reading (like this page), emulsion up, (black emulsion on top of acetate). 2. Emulsion must have density of 3.5 mils or higher. 3. A separate film must be supplied for each color to be produced. 4. Film size must be 8” x 10” with the image centered on the sheet. 5. The PMS color, consecutive numbering of sheets (i.e. sheet 1 of 3) and catalog/reference number must appear on the top right hand corner of the label film. 6. Type printed over plain silver disc should be no smaller than 6 points (bold face). 7. The minimum thickness of each line for positive images is 0.5 points. For reversed or negative images, 1.5 points is the minimum that can be reproduced. 8. Halftone images must be 85 lines per inch, to insure legibility and to reduce moire patterns. 9. A trap (overlap) of 1 point must be given between colors to allow for adequate registration. 10. Four registration marks are required on each film, 3.5 inches from the center of the image at 90 degrees. Line thickness should be 0.1 mm maximum. 11.
