"...Stonehenge is one. There are mysteries throughout the universe that are unsolvable by mere men of logic; the lab coat, pen protected theoreticians that roam the planet in search of truths. They look outward but the answer lies in their very own minds. Musicians have been called crazy, childlike, demonic, godlike, full of shit--they are rarely called plain-minded. Perhaps they are closer to the truth than most people think. There is process whereby lyrics and melodies flow or are forced through a musician's mind that is unattainable and foreign to most people. Maybe, just maybe, this process originates from a central place here on earth. A funnel for the universal sound." --Racine's Interview @ Whiplash Press

Racine honed his solid and consistent method of playing for four years in the "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" on Broadway and played with as many as seven different bands at a time during his early years of service to the musical collective. Growing up in New York City allowed him to expand his awareness of all forms of music, but he settled on classic rock with progressive roots. Bands like Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Weather Report, The Beatles...musicians like David Bowie, Brian Eno, Jaco Pastorious and Tony Levin have all led to a musical appreciation of a diverse nature.

As well as plucking his white '63 Fender Precision for the majority of his life, he played his 1960s plywood Kay upright in college with the Mid-Hudson Philharmonic Orchestra and sang in the New Paltz Gospel Choir. Always reaching for new ways to express himself, he has recently acquired a beautiful Sadowski Five String Fretless bass and is now discovering a new feel of freedom.

Having absorbed melodical styles and learned tempered restraint, Racine can forge a steady, solid groove or take on more of an exploratory role. Wooster Sang affords him the opportunity to do both.

In addition to his musical passion, Racine has found that graphic/web design completes the circle of his creative desires. A complete portfolio of his work can be found online at http://www.bway.net/~elsyd.
